This applet shows a traffic light that changes colour, in order green -> yellow -> red -> green, when the "change" button is pressed. I also added another, more compact traffic light, with a ¬ overlaid.
This applet allows you to automatically create a small, blank window with the background colour you select. The applet keeps track of the number of windows created of each colour. This applet had to be converted to the Swing set and placed in a JApplet, because a standard applet cannot have a menu bar.
